Shaina was a mentee in the 2021/2022 class of Pitch Wars, won the 2020 Story Pony Flash Fiction Contest, and has been published in the magazine Rejection Letters. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and English, which she’s used in roles grant writing and fundraising for nonprofits. She is passionate about animal welfare and warm cups of coffee.

MIDDLE GRADE COZY FANTASY
WHISKED AWAY
On an island kingdom where sugar is currency, thirteen-year-old Sundae enters the annual baking competition with a stolen thimble of sugar. This breaks her destitute father’s only rule: no baking, no matter what. To earn his forgiveness and change his mind about her greatest passion, Sundae is determined to win the competition and its prize—an endless sugar fortune.

OCTOBER AND THE ETERNAL LIBRARY
Starry-eyed, neurodivergent October runs from his foster parents in search of a home and finds himself inside a library that exists outside of the normal rules of space and time. However, his arrival breaks the protective barrier around this library, putting it at the mercy of an evil librarian intent on its destruction.
